What are garage door automation?
Garage door automation is fitting a motor to a door you already have, so it opens and closes from a remote handset. Most sound sectional, retractable up and over and side hinged doors can be converted in a single visit, provided the door is balanced and running freely.
How much do garage door automation cost?
Our guide price is £450–£850 including VAT. Where a door is fitted, that includes removing and disposing of the old door. The final price depends on size, finish, whether you want it electric or insulated, and the condition of the opening, and is fixed in writing after survey.

Questions about garage door automation
Can any garage door be motorised?
Most can, if the door is in good condition and balanced. A door that is stiff or has worn springs needs repair first, or the motor will fail early.
How long does a conversion take?
Usually a few hours in a single visit, including coding the handsets.
Do I need an electrician?
The operator plugs into a fused spur or socket. If there is no power in the garage, one needs adding before we fit.
