What are roller garage doors?
A roller garage door is a curtain of interlocking aluminium laths that winds onto a barrel inside a box above the opening. It takes up no ceiling space, so it suits garages used for storage, workshops or roof racks, and it never swings onto the drive.
How much do roller garage doors cost?
Our guide price is £1,300–£3,200 including VAT. Where a door is fitted, that includes removing and disposing of the old door. The final price depends on size, finish, whether you want it electric or insulated, and the condition of the opening, and is fixed in writing after survey.

Options to choose from
Foam-filled laths
Double-skinned aluminium laths filled with foam for insulation, quieter running and a stiffer curtain.
Box inside or outside
The roller box normally sits behind the lintel. Where there is no room inside it can be mounted on the face.
Electric with safety edge
Tubular motors with a safety edge that stops and reverses the door if it meets an obstacle.
Manual override
A release or winding handle so the door can be opened during a power cut.

Questions about roller garage doors
Are roller doors always electric?
Most are, because a wide curtain is heavy to lift. Smaller single doors can be supplied manual with a spring-assisted barrel.
What happens in a power cut?
Every electric roller door we fit has a manual override. Battery backup units are also available.
Do roller doors suit wide double garages?
Yes. Wide doors use a deeper lath profile so the curtain stays rigid in wind.
