What are garage door servicing?

Garage door servicing is a routine inspection and adjustment that keeps a door running smoothly and safely. The engineer checks springs, cables, rollers and tracks, lubricates moving parts, tests the balance and, on electric doors, checks the obstacle detection and safety reverse.

How much do garage door servicing cost?

Our guide price is £85–£150 including VAT. Where a door is fitted, that includes removing and disposing of the old door. The final price depends on size, finish, whether you want it electric or insulated, and the condition of the opening, and is fixed in writing after survey.

Questions about garage door servicing

How often should a garage door be serviced?

Once a year suits most homes. Doors used many times a day, or commercial doors, benefit from more frequent checks.

What happens if the engineer finds a fault?

You get a written note of what was found and a price for any repair, and nothing is done without your say-so.

Does servicing affect my warranty?

Some manufacturers ask for regular servicing. Check your door's warranty terms and keep the service record.
