What are steel garage doors?
A steel garage door is made from galvanised steel sheet with a factory-applied polyester or plastisol coating. Steel is the most common garage door material in the UK because it is strong, low maintenance and available in almost any colour, in up and over, sectional and side hinged styles.
How much do steel garage doors cost?
Our guide price is £550–£2,800 including VAT. Where a door is fitted, that includes removing and disposing of the old door. The final price depends on size, finish, whether you want it electric or insulated, and the condition of the opening, and is fixed in writing after survey.

Questions about steel garage doors
Will a steel garage door rust?
Galvanising and a factory coating protect the steel. Scratches that reach bare metal should be touched up promptly.
Can a steel door match my front door colour?
Yes. Most designs are available in a wide RAL colour range to order.
Is steel noisy?
Single-skin steel is louder than insulated double-skin panels, which run more quietly.
