What are sectional garage doors?

A sectional garage door is made of horizontal panels hinged together that run in side tracks. It rises vertically, then turns and parks flat under the garage ceiling, so it never swings out onto the drive and you can park right up to it.

How much do sectional garage doors cost?

Our guide price is £1,400–£3,600 including VAT. Where a door is fitted, that includes removing and disposing of the old door. The final price depends on size, finish, whether you want it electric or insulated, and the condition of the opening, and is fixed in writing after survey.

Options to choose from

Panel designs

Smooth, horizontally ribbed, micro-ribbed, cassette and woodgrain-embossed panels in a wide range of colours.

40mm insulated panels

Foam-filled double-skin steel panels that keep an integral garage noticeably warmer and quieter.

Low-headroom track

A track arrangement for garages with little space between the top of the opening and the ceiling.

Fitted behind or within the opening

Behind the opening gives the full drive-through width. Within the opening is used where there is no return wall.

Questions about sectional garage doors

Does a sectional door need space in front?

No. It rises vertically, so you can park up to the door and it will still open.

How much headroom is needed?

It depends on the track system chosen. Standard tracks need more space above the opening than low-headroom tracks. Our surveyor measures headroom, side room and garage depth before we quote.

Can you fit a non-standard opening?

Yes. Sectional doors are made to measure, so odd widths and heights are normal work for us.
